Ingredients
- 2 packages (1 pound each) ground pork sausage (I used Jimmy Dean – one regular and one hot)
- 8 eggs
- Salt and pepper
- 12 slices American cheese, unwrapped
- 1 package (12 total) dinner rolls
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- Everything bagel seasoning (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9-by-13-inch baking pan.
- Combine the packages of sausage and press into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until pork sausage reaches desired doneness.
- Carefully remove the large sausage patty from the pan to a paper towel covered cutting board.
- Add the eggs to a medium bowl and whisk until well-combined.
- In a large skillet, scramble the eggs over medium heat until just done (do not overcook); season to taste with salt and pepper, then remove from heat and set aside.
- Meanwhile, wash and dry the baking pan (or use an entirely different one) and then place a piece of parchment paper in the bottom.
- Without separating them, use a serrated knife to cut the dinner rolls in half horizontally.
- Place the bottom half of the rolls on top of the parchment paper in the pan.
- Place six pieces of cheese evenly over the dinner roll bottoms.
- Carefully place the sausage on top of the cheese.
- Spread the eggs evenly over the sausage.
- Place the remaining pieces of cheese over the eggs.
- Place the tops of the dinner rolls on top of the cheese.
- Brush the butter evenly over the tops of the dinner rolls.
- Sprinkle everything bagel seasoning over the tops of the dinner rolls, if desired.
- Bake in the oven for about 10-12 minutes until the tops of the dinner rolls are browned.
- Remove from the oven, cut into sliders and enjoy.
